Terms and conditions

Last updated 9 October 2026

These terms apply when you hire a powerbank from a Koala Charge station or buy a Koala Charge station through this website. "We", "us" and "our" means Koala Charge (ABN 00 000 000 000). By hiring a powerbank or placing an order you agree to these terms.

1. Hiring a powerbank

  • Hire prices are shown on this website and at each station. The price shown when you start a hire is the price you pay.
  • We may place a temporary hold on your card when you start a hire. It is released or adjusted when you return the powerbank.
  • You can return a powerbank to any Koala Charge station. The hire ends when the station confirms the return.
  • If a powerbank is not returned within 5 days, you are charged the keep price shown on this website and the powerbank is yours.
  • If a powerbank is lost, stolen or damaged beyond normal wear while hired to you, we may charge up to the keep price.
  • You must be 18 or over to hire, or have permission from a parent or guardian.

2. Using powerbanks safely

  • Do not open, puncture, crush, wet or heat a powerbank, or leave it in a hot car.
  • Stop using a powerbank straight away if it gets very hot, swells, smells or is damaged, and return it to any station or contact us.
  • Keep powerbanks away from young children.

3. Buying a station

  • Prices are in Australian dollars. Delivery costs are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Your order is accepted once payment is complete and you receive our confirmation email.
  • If an item is unavailable, or a price on the website is clearly wrong, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
  • Delivery times and costs are explained on our delivery page. Ownership and responsibility for the station pass to you on delivery.
  • You are responsible for where you place your station, including agreements with venues, any permits, and your own payment account and its fees.
  • Any figures about possible earnings are examples only and are not a promise. Please read our earnings disclaimer.

4. Hosting a station at your venue

If we place a Koala Charge station at your venue, the details, including any revenue share, are set out in a separate written agreement with you.

5. Australian Consumer Law and our liability

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those rights. Our refund process is explained in our refunds and returns policy. To the extent the law allows, where we are liable for a failure to meet a guarantee for goods or services that are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited to supplying the goods or services again, or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

6. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.

7. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this website when you hire or order is the one that applies. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
